NYSERDA Incentives

As a participating contractor working with NYSERDA we are able to provide you with access to programs that may pay 50% or even 100% of the cost of eligible energy efficiency improvements for those who income qualify.

Assisted Home Performance with Energy Star Program

Homeowners in New York who are income-eligible can have up to 50% of the cost to upgrade their home paid for by NYSERDA, with the maxium amount being $4,000 for a single family home and up to $8,000 for a 2-4 family home. This program covers furnace replacement, draft reduction measures, duct sealing, Insulation, programmable thermostats, along with a few others.  

Landlords renting out single or 2-4 family homes can even benefit from this program. If your tenant is income eligible for the program all they have to do is fill out the application and you as the landlord will only have to pay 50% of the project costs. 

Income Guidelines:

Total household income must be at or below 80% of Area Median Income. If your area is not listed below give us a call to check your eligibility. (1-844-914-0303)

The Empower Program

The Empower New York program offers no-cost energy upgrades for income qualified households. The program is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Services can include:

• Replacement of old Refrigerators (usually 10 years or older)                             
• Installation of high-efficiency lighting (CFL bulbs)
• Tips on how to save energy
• Insulation and draft reduction

There is no cost to you for these services. Services will be targeted on the basis of energy usage and the potential for energy-saving measures. In order to qualify you must:

• Meet the income guidelines (shown below)
• Be an electric or natural gas customer of one of these companies: Central Hudson, Con Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, Orange and Rockland, or Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E)
• Live in a building with 100 residential units or less
